Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max 512GB Space Gray
iPhone 11 Pro Max 512GB Gray – Apple is still one of the biggest mobile phone manufacturers in the world. Rather than producing lots of handsets across the range, they prefer to stick to the high-end premium handsets only compromising with their three cut down handsets, the iPhone 11 being the latest in this genre. Even these are packed to the hilt with functionality and features, and fans will attest to the excitement caused by the building up to a launch event. These annual gatherings attract huge media interest, and the venue is always packed with press and other invited guests.
iPhone 11 Pro Max Design and Screen
If you have seen the iPhone XS Max, then you will be familiar with the design of the iPhone 11 Pro Max. They are the same size, and the design is very similar, and why would Apple want to change what is essentially a winning formula. It is a bezel edge phone although the bezel is so slim it is barely noticeable, and there is a front-facing camera notch along the top. It is the same style as previous models but has shrunk a little in size. Being their largest handset, it is over the 6-inch border, and this is a hugely popular size. It is perfect for playing games on the go or for streaming movies and television catch-up. The headset comes with a waterproof and dust rating of IP68, which is the highest rating and gives you that added protection.
In terms of the screen, the statistics are very similar to the iPhone XS Max, which shows how good a handset this really is. Both phones are 6.4 inches, and this is very deliberate as if you want a handset that is good for playing games and streaming movies, you also want a decent size viewing area. The screen is a super retina XDR display, with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, a resolution of 1242 x 2688 and a PPI density of 456. It is all screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 85.0%, all of which is crucial when looking for the best gaming handset. To help protect it from scrapes and bumps of daily life, it is a scratch-resistant glass with an oleophobic coating.
When you turn the handset over, you will instantly recognise the Apple look and feel. This handset does feature some new camera housing design though, and with a triple-lens rear camera, they have opted for a square housing rather than the more traditionally seen traffic light arrangement. Within the square housing, the three lenses and the flash are offset and not regimented, which is a nice unique look, and the whole unit sits off to the left on the rear panel. There is a new frosted glass finish to the back, and we have to say it works well.
iPhone 11 Pro Max Audio
If you are familiar with Apple then you will know that they always bring the audio performance in on target, it is always stunning and although there is no standard 3.5mm headphone jack any more the sound quality with AirPods or even generic Bluetooth headphones are first rate. There is plenty of volume on offer so you can easily watch a movie or stream music in a quiet room. It is also great for making calls on handsfree with no distortion or crackle.
iPhone 11 Pro Max Camera
The iPhone 11 series is all about the power of 12, that is 12MP as all three of the rear cameras are 12MP offerings, just that you have one standard, one ultra-wide and one telephoto lens that combines to create seriously good images. There is an extensive night mode which has not been seen before. Of course, you can also use this camera to record video, and the quality is brilliant plus you get a full range of editing options built-in. Just for perfect symmetry the front-facing camera is also a 12MP lens and performs well offering two settings for wide and ultra-wide capture which really enhances this camera.
iPhone 11 Pro Max Features and Performance
Inside the iPhone 11, Pro Max is the newest and most powerful chipset, the A13 Bionic, which is also focused on augmented reality and machine learning. The software is of course iOS, and the newest version iOS 13 will come installed. You then need to follow the prompts to download updates as and when they become available.
The handset is a wireless charging offering, but you only get the cable in the box. This is the first series to features the bilateral wireless which you might have heard called reverse charging. What this means is that you can use the handset to charge other wireless charging devices by placing them on the back. It is a useful feature for things like AirPods. The battery supporting all of this is a large 3500 mAh which is plenty enough to power a device of this size.
There are three different sizes of the handset on offer in terms of storage, and of course, these make an impact on the price slightly. There is the 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, all of which have 6GB of RAM. Apple never uses microSD card expansion. Finally, they have also upgraded the FaceID to take into account a wider scanning angle so you can hold the handset further away.
